Pyramid Table

Design by / Wim Rietveld
for Ahrend, relaunched together with HAY

Designed by Wim Rietveld in the middle of the 20th Century, while working at Arhend, the Pyramid collection is an ideal example of the innovative cutout steel sheet process developed in the mid-twentieth century. Combining functional excellence with aesthetic lightness and adaptability, the Pyramid collection has an organic shape, that is exceptionally sparing in its use of materials and relatively simple to construct.

The Pyramid Collection features a number of different configurations of the design, all of which are visually linked together by the base frame, this including tables, a desk and a bench.

Originally designed for schools and public spaces where every day use required a long-lasting structure, the Pyramid collection remains as relevant and useful today.
