About A Chair AAC13 Soaped solid oak 4 leg base Standard glider-Full upholstery-Hallingdal-116

With its gently curved open shell and symmetrical solid base, the About A Chair AAC 13 design offers a refreshingly pared back expression that is consistent with the rest of the collection. The lack of armrests ensures a clean, clutter-free silhouette, whilst the shaped, upholstered seat and back provide optimal comfort. The wooden frame with elegant, rounded legs brings character and stability and is available in different finishes, with the shell offered in multiple upholstery options. The extensive range of choices offers the opportunity to create almost infinite design combinations for use in a wide range of corporate, public, and private contexts.

About A Chair / Designer

Hee Welling is a Danish furniture designer who founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003. The son of a cabinetmaker, Welling’s fascination with production techniques, materials, and machinery was fired as a child. He went on to study at The University of Art and Design in Helsinki, and received his master’s degree in furniture design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Centred around the idea of creating technically accomplished products that can reach a wide audience, his designs are characterised by a great sense of proportion and quietly elegant aesthetics.

Welling has received a number of design awards, including the Bo Bedre Award (Denmark), Good Design Award (USA), and has been nominated as Danish designer of the year in 2013 and 2014. For HAY, Welling has designed the About A series and the Hee Collection.
