Jessica Hans Shadow Vase

Jessica Hans Shadow Vase

Based on a handmade design, built and decorated with materials in their natural state, Jessica Hans' Shadow Vase has a deliberately uneven and irregular design. The design collaboration with HAY translates Jessica's organic, abstract aesthetic to a functional object with a unique, hand-painted surface. Monochrome colours create a graphic, sculptural piece of art that can be used for displaying flowers or as a decorative ornament on its own.

Jessica Hans Shadow Vase / Designer

Jessica Hans graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Art at Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012, focusing on textile design and ceramics. She now runs her artist studio in Philadelphia, where she uses her wide range of expertise to develop ceramic art and products for customers in the US and abroad. Jessica’s work stems from an interest in the naturally occurring pattern and texture of rock and earth combined with the ever-present motifs present in modern design. She intends her work to serve a purpose, such as a vase for beautiful flowers, but also hopes the pieces can exist alone as art objects. Jessica has designed a series of vases for HAY.
