Jochen Holz

Jochen Holz is a glass artist from Germany who is based in London. He initially studied as a technical glass blower in Germany, before going on to complete a BA Hons in Applied Arts at Edinburgh College of Art and a MA in Ceramics and Glass at The Royal College of Art. After graduating in 2003 he established his own studio in Stratford, East London. He is known for technically accomplished pieces and for his use of the lampworking technique, which allows for the flow of hot glass to inform the shape of the final piece. He was awarded the RSA Award in 2000 and the Centre Prize at the RCA in 2003. For Hay, he has created Jug, in various iterations.
